Unit 669 is the Combat Search and Rescue Unit of the Israeli Air Force and is one of the premier Special Operations Units of the IDF. Its mission is to rescue casualties - both soldiers and civilians - anywhere and under any conditions, be it enemy territory under hostile fire or civilians caught in emergencies.


Since October 7, Unit 669 has rescued more than 3000 soldiers and civilians, and the team has been responsible for bringing the hostages back to Israeli soil and accompanying them in this transition while giving them medical treatment when needed.

The American Friends of Unit 669 (AFU 669) is a non-profit organization established to support the welfare of this elite unit.
