Supporting the Lifesavers:
Tyler's Mitzvah Project for Unit 669

Unit 669 is a Special Operations Unit within the IDF, renowned for its expertise in extraction, evacuation and technical support. These brave soldiers operate in high-risk environments to rescue hostages, injured personnel and disaster victims. In the Jewish tradition, there is no higher calling than the preservation of human life. This unit lives that value every single day.

This past December, I had the privilege of touring a base of Unit 669 during my trip to Israel. I met with leaders and soldiers whose bravery and intense training resonated deeply with me. While visiting, I saw the memorial wall to fallen soldiers. It struck me that more than half of all the fallen soldiers in the unit’s history have died in the short time since October 7th.

The training for Unit 669 is incredibly rigorous; of the 200 soldiers that begin each year, less than 10% complete the program. They are the ones tasked with rescuing pilots behind enemy lines and were responsible for many of the hostage rescue missions following October 7th.

Inspired by their heroism, I’ve chosen to support Unit 669 for my Mitzvah Project.

I invite you to join my family and me in contributing to their vital mission of saving lives.
